Date Night

Date night has changed since I became a mom. It used to be Lucas and I in a restaurant. I would have on nice clothes, fixed hair, and make up. We would order and sit and enjoy our meals.

When we had Danae, we pretty much quit going on dates. After awhile I realized we were spending way too much time being parents and not enough time on us. We talked about it and instituted "date night." Date night now happens once a week, but it looks a little different than it used to.

Date night now consists of a movie and junk food on Monday evenings after the kids are in bed. It occurs in our living room and I wear pajamas. My hair is usually wet from my shower and I have on no make up. We are almost always interrupted by a child who needs put back to bed or has to use the restroom.

Despite the fact that date night is different, I love it. And we do sometimes go on "real" dates out of the house. I love those a lot because I don't have to cook!
