My boy snores

David snores. He snores loudly. I didn't realize how loudly until we all shared a room over Christmas. At one point during that trip I woke up thinking he was calling "Mommy!" Instead, he was snoring what really did sound like, "Mommy." Loudly.

This all began quickly about 3 months ago. He always snored when sick, but never when he was well, or at least not this loudly.

Enter ear, nose, and throat doctor.

Little boy is having his tonsils and adnoids out soon. The doctor didn't need a second glance - apparently they are huge and obstructing his airway. So out they go.

I'm not nervous at this point, but I really hate handing my child over for surgery to that nurse when the time comes. :(

Mommy's New Toy

For Christmas, my sweet husband was trying to save for an iPad for me. He knew I wanted one. However, finances are tight and he wasn't going to be able to save enough and really, I don't NEED an iPad. I have a laptop computer and what I really wanted was an e-reader. Enter Kindle Fire. :)

On Christmas morning there was a shiny new Kindle Fire under our tree with my name on it. I LOVE the thing! I think if I was used to all that an iPad could do I might be dissatisfied with it, but since I'm ignorant of all things iPad, I'm happy.

What I have loved the most is that there is so much free content that I can download. I have many free books waiting for me to read and I have found lots of free educational apps for the kids.

The kids call it, "Mommy's new toy" and ask to play with it often. Danae has become an Angry Bird player...and so has Lucas!

Back to Routine

I love vacation so much, but I was glad to get back to a regular schedule today. I was glad to see little daycare kid faces at my doorstep. Danae and I worked as soon as she woke up today and got through several reading books, math, and seven workbook pages. The girl was on a roll. We usually only do one page, but she did the whole week's worth at once. I guess she missed school too. :)

And then she threw a fit because her math manipulatives wouldn't fit together as nicely as legos. I guess I shouldn't wish for a perfect morning on a Monday.

Danae was thrilled to have friends to play with again. David wasn't so happy. He doesn't adjust back to having daycare kids here as easily. I'm not sure if it's his age or his personality, but he had a difficult day.

When the daycare kids left, we spent an hour playing outside in the snow. It is COLD outside, but Danae and David loved it. I was thinking about how the kids see snow and only think "FUN!" I see snow and think "WORK!" Oh to be a child again :)
